Nagaland CAWD & Taxes Adviser Kudecho Khamo has mooted the idea of observing a “family week” during seasonal holidays, urging families to utilise the period for quality time and future planning.
Khamo said that during seasonal holidays, families should spend meaningful time with their children and also draw up proper plans for the coming year. He stressed that families need to adopt a comprehensive strategy focusing on health, education, social responsibilities, economic planning, farming, business, and other sectors.
He said that systematic planning is essential for the overall growth of a family, which in turn contributes to social well-being.
Addressing the 72nd general session of the Thenyizumi Students’ Union (TSU) held on December 23 at Thenyizumi village in Phek district, Khamo said the festive season is a time to come closer to God, foster better understanding, and spread the message of love and affection. The session was held under the theme “Empowering Minds to be Future Frontiers.”
Khamo also called upon students to maintain a positive mindset and strive to become assets to society.
Superintendent of Police, Phek, Dr Pritpal Kaur, who also graced the occasion as the honoured guest, said that nothing is impossible in this world. She stated that hard work and dedication are the only routes to success.
Emphasising the role of education, Dr Kaur said education has a purpose and stressed the need to translate that purpose into reality for building a progressive society.
President of CAPO and Head GB of Thenyizu, Vepozoyi Theyo, also exhorted the gathering.
TSU president Aveto Resu delivered the presidential address.
The programme was chaired by TSU General Secretary Kehuzhoyi Resu, while the acknowledgement of dignitaries was delivered by TSU Assistant General Secretary Akhruvolu Lucy Dawhuo.
