DIMAPUR, MARCH 23 (MExN): All domestic commercial flights have been ordered by the Civil Aviation Ministry to cease operating indefinitely, effective 11:59 pm, March 24.
Only cargo planes will continue flying in the Indian skies, the Press and Information Bureau informed today. India has already banned all international flights from entering the country from March 22 to March 29. Indian Railways has already cancelled all passenger trains including metro and suburban services till March 31.
Dimapur Airport Director, Mughavi Zhimo informed that flights scheduled for March 23 (till midnight) will be the last ones in or out of Dimapur Airport. “No one expected things to come to this but drastic measures have to be taken for our own safety,” he stated.
