Dimapur, April 15(MExN): The Dimapur District Administration today informed that the wholesale market at GS Road, Dimapur will continued to be closed till further orders and said that alternative arrangements are being worked out.
The market falls under locality in Dimapur, which was sealed by the administration following the confirmation of one patient from the area as COVID-19 positive on April 12.
Following a meeting between the District Administration, Police, DMC and DCCI in the presence of Special Committee, Covid-19 Dimapur, a press release was issued informed that following decision were made:
- The wholesale market at GS Road, Dimapur will continued to be closed till further orders. Details will be intimated to public soon after the arrangement has been worked out.
- The retail shops in all the colonies will remain open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, except New Market, Marwaripatti, Murgipatti and GS Road.
- About 136 persons have been quarantined including the patient’s family members, relatives, doctors, nurses and others who directly or indirectly came into contact with the patient. This excludes the passengers of Air India flight 709 on March 24 on board the same flight with the patient.
- The District Administration informed all wards/colonies/villages that personnel under exempted categories should be allowed proper passage and that no undue inconvenience is caused to them while passing through their respective jurisdictions since they are serving in the larger interest of everyone.
- The District Administration appealed to the citizens to continue extending their support and cooperation to the authorities and adhere to orders/directives issued from time to time.
