Alumni Association of SASRD prepares for 25th Alumni Meet 2025

Kohima, October 6 (MExN): The Alumni Association of the School of Agricultural Sciences & Rural Development, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus will be holding 25th Alumni Meet 2025, commemorating the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Association at Multipurpose Hall, SASRD, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus on October 20.

With the theme “Celebrating 25 Years of Memories, Milestones & Togetherness,” this grand reunion aims to bring together generations of alumni to reflect on their shared journey, strengthen bonds, and celebrate the rich legacy of SASRD.

The Alumni Association of SASRD, Nagaland University (formerly College of Agriculture, NEHU) was formally established on 15th June 2000 during a meeting of former students at the RD Seminar Hall, SASRD.

Guided by the motto “Quest for knowledge in the service of people,” the Association seeks to foster unity among alumni, safeguard their rights and privileges, and create a dynamic forum for discussion and idea exchange to promote growth and development in agriculture and allied sectors.

In 2003, an emblem design competition was held, and the winning emblem by Temjentoshi, then a B.Sc (Agri) 2nd-year student, was adopted.

The emblem symbolizes the Association’s commitment to excellence, agricultural prosperity, peace, and unity.

The Association’s green flag bearing the emblem was officially unfurled on 19th October 2003 during the Alumni Meet, coinciding with SASRD’s Silver Jubilee celebrations.

To mark the occasion, a monolith was donated and erected by the Association.

Earlier, on 5th September 2001, the first general conference was held to honour teachers for their invaluable contributions to shaping students’ lives.

Over the years, various activities and initiatives have been made possible through voluntary contributions from alumni, registration fees, and special funds.

The Association extended invitation to all SAS alumni across the globe to participate, support, and contribute towards achieving its vision and objectives. “Together, let us continue to strengthen our network and contribute meaningfully to the development of agriculture and rural communities,” the Association stated.
