ANATU to continue agitation

Kohima | August 18 : The All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Union (ANATU) today staged a peaceful agitation at the office premises of the Directorate of School Education here.
Taking to The Morung Express this evening, ANATU president Neizevotuo Nakhro said the agitation will continue till tomorrow for not getting a positive response. He said the agitation will start from 9:00 am onwards.
He said ANATU met commissioner & secretary school education today however there was no positive outcome for which the Union will continue the agitation. “We want a concrete assurance from cabinet level,” he said.
Nakhro said “our demand is we want justice from the department by regularizing the adhoc teachers.”
Among the many placards carried and displayed by the teachers at the agitation included; “Help us to serve you better,” “Stop discrimination,” “We want service regularization,” “Depriving teacher is depriving the society,” “ Depriving the rights of innocent teachers is depriving the rights of student,” “We demand regularization with full benefits,” “We are genuine, we demand justice,” “ Justice delayed is justice denied,” “We demand justice,” “Until our demands are fulfilled no compromise,” etc.
Mentionably, the Union said that it has decided to go for an agitation as it did not receive any assurance from the department after an ultimatum was served to regularize the service of adhoc teachers.
