ANGPTA cautions against unauthorised fee collection

Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): The All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association (ANGPTA) has cautioned all primary teachers “not to pay any amount to individuals who are not mandated or authorised by the primary teachers.”

The Media Cell of ANGPTA in a press release stated that consisting of more than 10,000 primary teachers, ANGPTA is the largest association under the Department of School Education in Nagaland, formed in 2014 for the welfare of all primary teachers across the state.

It clarified that, like the ANGPTA, many associations were formed under the Department of School Education because the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) failed to address the grievances of different cadres of teachers.

“After being disheartened with the functioning of the ANSTA for many years, teachers parted ways with the association more than a decade ago,” the ANGPTA stated.

However, it has recently come to notice through electronic media that under the banner of ANSTA, “an individual bank account number 65550100000380 and GPay number 7005920013,” is circulating messages seeking membership fees from different cadres of teachers.

The association asserted that at present “ANSTA no longer represents all the different cadres of teachers but only some groups, and not the primary teachers.” It therefore, cautioned any person against soliciting donations from primary teachers. “Failure to comply with this warning will invite strict action,” the ANGPTA added.
