Dimapur, October 15 (MExN): The Lions family will be organizing Deepawali Mela on Sunday October 16 at Lions Centre, Midland, Dimapur. Y. Patton, Hon’ble Parliamentary Secretary for Border Affairs, Irrigation & Flood Control, Geology & Mining, Government. Of Nagaland would be the chief guest on the occasion.
Ajay Sethi, PRO, Lions Club of Dimapur in a press note stated that Lion Praveen Jain, Chairman & Lion Sunil Jain, Lion Sumit Jain, Co-Chairmen have ensured that the mela will be a fun-filled one. It was also stated that the mela is the only fund raising project of Lions Club of Dimapur which enables the club to organize Annual Medical Camps, Annual Eye Screening Camps, Annual Peace Poster Contest, maintain Leo Club, Lions Health Centre, Parks at Lions Centre, School for Deaf & Ram Janaki Hr Sec school & do many other charitable works for the society.
It was further mentioned in the note that the club maintains an ambulance and a mortuary van in the service of the needy people at a reasonable cost. Lion Rakesh Jain and Lion Neeraj Kala, president and secretary, Lions Club of Dimapur requested the public to grace the occasion in large numbers. .
Also the note mentioned that the results of Annual Peace Poster Contest’11 will be declared on 16th Oct’11 at 1pm during the Deepawali Mela. All the 19 Schools’ representatives viz. Assembly of God Hr. Sec. School, Bethesda Hr. Sec. School, BOSCOME, Christina Memorial School, Delhi Public School, Eastern Academy, Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Hollotoli School, Holy Cross Hr Sec School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School, Namghar School, Pine Mount School, Pranab Vidyapith Hr. Sec. School, St. Mary’s Montessori & High School, St Paul Hr. Sec. School, Vision School of Fine Arts, Unity Christian Hr Sec School, Zakiesato Memorial Hr Sec School participants and guardians are requested to attend the occasion.
