
The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) today organized a social work on new market road connecting NHAK junction to Taxi stand, New NST Bus station.
Altogether, around sixty five youth volunteers from the New Market Youth Organization along with the ANTA officials took part in the social work. A JCB was also pressed into service during the social work while vehicle owners from the New Market locality contributed their vehicle during the service.
ANTA official while talking to media persons said that the decision to organize the social work was taken during the meeting as the taxi stand is located in the area and also following the state government failure to maintain the work despite request being made.
Pointing out that at least 150 taxis in addition to another not less than 100 private vehicles ply in the New Market road stretch about a kilometre, both ANTA and NMYO appealed the state government to maintain the road from time to time.
Meanwhile, ANTA official also expressed regrets for the inconvenience caused to the public through traffic restriction but at the same time thanked the public for their cooperation thereby making the social work a success. The Association also thanked the NMYO and all the vehicle owners who had selflessly sacrifice their vehicle during the social work.
