Imphal, December 22 (MExN): Troops of Assam Rifles along with Manipur Police, in a joint operation, on Friday arrested the main culprit of IED blast, which took place on November 5, 2019 at Thangal Bazar, Imphal, an official release informed today.
Five Police personnel and one civilian were injured in the IED blast.
Calling the arrest a “breaking success,” the release from PIB (Defence Wing) identified the culprit as Paonam Manikanta Singha alias Amuyaima, a member of PLA/RPF.
Based on the inputs provided by Singhal, another accomplice in the IED blast identified as Thiyam Roshan Singh, a sympathiser of PLA/RPF was also apprehended Imphal West Commandos from Singjamei, Imphal, it said.
“Both the apprehended individuals have been handed over to police for further investigations,” it added.
