Architects from UK, Spain to conduct training on bamboo construction

Dimapur, October 9, (MExN):  Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency will be organizing an Investigation and Hands on Training Workshop programme on bamboo construction at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, 6th mile, Dimapur. Norman Putsure, IAS, Team Leader, NBM-IT, NBDA in a press note, stated that the programme is for two months beginning 10th October 2011 with Architects Jonothan James Cory – Wright of UK and Fatima Martin Alvaro of Spain as the resource persons.
 It mentioned that the objectives of the Investigation and Training Workshop Programme is to investigate adaptations of geometries and construction methods specific to the characteristics of various bamboo species native to Nagaland, to generate geometries that are as structurally efficient as they are aesthetically pleasing, to combine traditional and modern construction techniques from different countries, and development of low cost simple technology modules that can be replicated by users to execute individual designs based on their personal needs.
The workshop programme is designed for Architects and Engineers. The programme however is open to all for participation.
