Kohima, April 13 (MExN): The Army Recruitment Office (ARO), Rangapahar on April 11 held an extensive outreach programme in Dimapur district to boost awareness and participation in the Indian Army recruitment process under various categories, including the Officer cadre and Agniveer scheme.
The programme, organised in collaboration with Cornerstone Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, witnessed the participation of over 216 students, including approximately 100 girls, officials said.
The session focused on familiarising aspiring candidates with the Agnipath Scheme, including the registration process, creation of login IDs, and details of recruitment notifications for 2025–26. Officers also highlighted the benefits and career opportunities available after four years of service under the Agniveer scheme.

Additionally, the event provided in-depth information on officer entry routes such as the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Military Nursing Services (MNS), and Territorial Army (TA). The Service Selection Board (SSB) interview process was also explained in detail.
Army personnel addressed student queries and explained eligibility requirements, application steps, and selection procedures. Attendees were also introduced to the structure of the Indian Army, including its various arms and services.
To supplement the session, informational handouts, posters, and pamphlets were distributed among the participants.
The outreach initiative is part of a broader effort by the Ministry of Defence to engage with youth across Manipur, Nagaland, and southern Arunachal Pradesh to encourage careers in the armed forces.
