
Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): In a bid to improve service output among its employees, the Directorate of Art & Culture on September 9 launched a new initiative to award befitting recognition and acknowledgement for outstanding sincerity and dedication manifested by its employees in the line of duties. Kethoselie, office peon attached to the Art Wing of the Directorate at Kohima was the first recipient of the award for his exemplary performances on various occasions.
“As the lone grade IV staff attached to the Art Wing, Kethoselie assists the artists for tableaux construction and festivals of Nagaland at Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati etc and has virtually served as an artist, a chowkidar, a sweeper and a peon for over ten years.”
This was informed here in a press note issued by the department of Art & Culture, Nagaland, Kohima.
The note stated that speaking on the occasion, Kughazhe Yeputhomi, director of Art & Culture congratulated Kethoselie for his exemplary dedication to duty and stressed on the importance of each and every personnel in the department for meaningful service output. He pointed out further that outstanding performances are result of deep commitment and dedication that comes from the heart and not just by doing what our superiors tell us to do. Citing as an example, he narrated that during the construction of a departmental tableau for Republic Day Parade at Kohima in 2009, when there was an unexpected downpour on the night of January 23, Kethoselie went to the office compound in the night and covered the tableau under construction with tarpaulin that proves unmistakable love and concern for the department and its property.
He informed that the directorate in order to do full justice to the government has enforced no work, no pay sometime back and now, to do justice to the dedication of the employees, has launched this initiative to recognize and acknowledge outstanding services. The Award contains a "Letter of Appreciation with citations and a cash amount of Rs10000/-".
The function was chaired by Zunezo, joint director and the introductory speech on the new initiative was delivered by Vilalhou Noudi, the art executive. A welcome song was presented by Ruokuovotuo, Naga Idol 2007. The function was concluded with benediction by Puchosale, research officer, followed by light refreshment, it stated.
