Guwahati, September 12 (MExN): The Assam down town University 9th Convocation will be held at the university campus on September 16 with Governor of Assam and Visitor to the University, Professor Jagdish Mukhi as the chief guest. Prof Mukhi will confer the Degrees.
Dr Ranoj Peguj Minister of Education, and Welfare of Plain Tribe and Backward Classes, Government of Assam, and Dr Shekhar C Mande, Former Director General CSIR, New Delhi will address the convocation gatherings, stated a press release received here.
The Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor will present the D Litt (Honoris Causa) to Chiranjit Chaliha, Prominent Industrialist, Dinesh Shahra, Eminent Entrepreneur & Industrialist, and Prof CA (Dr) MS Jadav, Noted Chartered Accountant.
Approximately 1300 students comprising undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students will be awarded their degrees by the Dean of Studies, Chairpersons & Deans of various Faculty of Studies. The programme will also witness the conferment of the Gold Medal to the Best Graduate and Postgraduate students, an Appreciation Award to the Best Placement Recipient, and the AdtU Alumni Award for Inspiring Achievement. The AdtU Award of Excellence in School Teaching will be presented to the selected candidate by the honourable Chancellor on this occasion.
