NFR cancels, reschedules trains amid restoration work in Lumding–Badarpur section

Maligaon, August 3 (MEXN): Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Monday announced the cancellation, rescheduling and regulation of several train services as restoration work continues near New Harangajao station following the settlement of railway tracks on Line-1 and Line-2.

Train operations over the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section are currently being maintained through Line-3 under enhanced safety measures while restoration work is underway, the NFR said.

According to the revised schedule, Train No. 15615 Guwahati–Silchar Express, scheduled to commence its journey on August 4, has been cancelled. Train No. 15616 Silchar–Guwahati Express, scheduled to commence its journey on August 5, has also been cancelled.

The railway has also rescheduled several trains.

Train No. 15650 Narangi–Agartala Express, commencing its journey on August 4, will now depart at 10.30 pm, while Train No. 15649 Agartala–Narangi Express on the same date will depart at 11.30 pm.

Train No. 15609 Guwahati–Sairang Express and Train No. 15611 Rangiya–Silchar Express, both commencing their journeys on August 4, have been rescheduled to depart at 11.30 pm.

Train No. 15610 Sairang–Guwahati Express, commencing its journey on August 4, will now depart at 9.30 pm.

Train No. 15612 Silchar–Rangiya Express, scheduled to commence its journey on August 4, has been rescheduled to depart at 5 am on August 5.

Similarly, Train No. 15628 Silchar–Coimbatore Express, commencing its journey on August 4, has been rescheduled to depart at 4.10 am on August 5.

In addition, Train No. 15625 Deoghar–Agartala Express, commencing its journey on August 3, will be regulated en route suitably, the NFR said.

The railway has advised passengers to check the latest train status before commencing their journeys and said restoration work is continuing on a war footing to normalise operations in the affected section.
