Dimapur, July 22 (MExN): The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) today mocked the School Education department’s recent reinstatement of teachers and that the Vigilance Commission’s “so-called Special Investigation Team” for failing “to give proper report to the matter.” The ASU has questioned the integrity and sincerity of the SIT and has demanded immediate cancellation of the department’s “farcical report.”
The ASU stated in its note received here today – “In the light of the order issued by the Government of Nagaland, Directorate of school education in the press on 19th and 20th July the Angami Students Union in accord with the several tribal students’ union, rejects the recent reinstating of teachers to Angami-inhabited areas and urges all VEC, head-teachers and village authority not to accept the joining report of the appointed teachers under all Angami villages, and also appeals the respective DEO and DIS not to accept or deploy the newly appointed teachers.” ASU Speaker Sede Angami and general secretary Vimekhrielie Krose appended the note.
The ASU said it would not remain a silent spectator ‘if justice is not delivered at the earliest’ and has demanded that the Education department immediately cancel the recent retention and regularization of teachers “as it does not conform to the linguistic jurisdiction norm.
