Khrielievi Chüsi and others during 57th Annual Freshers' Meet of ASUS in Shillong on September 27

Kohima, September 27 (MExN): The Angami Students' Union Shillong (ASUS) celebrated its 57th Annual Freshers' Meet on September 27, 2025 at the Naga Community Hall, Nongrim Hills, Shillong, under the theme “Where Tradition Meets Awareness.”
The event brought together students, elders, and well-wishers in a vibrant gathering aimed at welcoming new members while honoring the rich cultural heritage of the Angami community.
The occasion was graced by Khrielievi Chüsi, Deputy Chairman of the Kohima Municipal Council, as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Chüsi lauded the Union for its continued efforts in fostering unity, cultural preservation, and academic excellence among Angami students in Shillong.
He encouraged the students to embrace their roots while adapting to the ever-changing world, emphasising the need to balance tradition with modern awareness.
“Our traditions are the foundation of our identity. As young people, you have the responsibility to carry forward our cultural values while being informed and prepared to face global challenges,” Chüsi said.
He further urged the students to stay focused on their education and to be agents of positive change within their communities.
Chüsi was accompanied by KMC councillors Kazheli Tungoe and Zenivono Nakhro.
Earlier, ASUS president Thejangutuo Kerhuo delivered presidential address.
