Mez & Co today produced a commanding performance to thrash Vanguard Academy 7–0 in the second semi-final of the 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League – Champions Cup 2026 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
The emphatic victory booked Mez & Co a place in the Champions Cup final, where they will face Sechü Zubza FC on August 29 at 6:00 PM.
Kevizolie Kin opened the scoring for Mez & Co in the 28th minute before doubling the advantage in the 58th minute. Vinato Achumi struck shortly after the restart in the 47th minute to make it 2–0.
Mez & Co continued to dominate as Nisede Peseyie added a fourth in the 63rd minute, followed by Petevizo Kezie-o two minutes later.
Vanguard Academy’s Nendy Kath then turned the ball into his own net in the 68th minute, before Neihelie J Mepfhüo completed the rout in the 70th minute to seal a 7–0 victory.
The special guest for the second semi-final was the Chümoukedima District Football Association, led by president Sedevikho Angami.
Today’s match was officiated by Michael Dul as referee, with Vihetuo Chietsü and Mhasikhonuo Paünuo as assistant referees. Imlimerenla Jamir served as the fourth official, while Medozevi Punyü was the Match Commissioner.
Meanwhile, the closing ceremony will be graced by Nagaland Football Association (NFA) president and All India Football Federation (AIFF) executive member K. Neibou Sekhose as the Guest of Honour.
The 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League 2026 is organised by Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland.
