Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): Aqahuto Area GBs’ Union has condemned destroying of crops and burning down of huts in the fields belonging to Ghowoto village in the morning of August 5 by some miscreants.
The Aqahuto Area GBs’ Union in a condemnation note issued by its president Phushito Ayemi has claimed that the miscreants were “from Jalukielo side”.
Expressing its resentment over the incident, the union in the note stated: “People of Ghowoto village and its surrounding villages have been maintaining utmost restraint however it is the people from Jalukielo village who have been constantly creating trouble in Ghowoto village area. And this time also miscreants entered into the land of Ghowoto village with intention to cause harm to the villagers and also destroy the property of the people.”
The note stated that fortunately, before the miscreants could cause much damage IRB personnel deployed in the area intervened in time and apprehended two people in the process. “Firearms and handmade explosives recovered from them is a clear indication of their intention.”
The union has lauded the IRB personnel for their timely act to protect the innocent and helpless villagers. The union has appealed the law enforcing agency not to grant bail to the “two miscreants who were out to destroy the peace of the people”.
