Kohima, February 15 (MExN): A one-day workshop on ‘Mastering Tomorrow: A student-focused soft skills workshop’, was organised by the Department of English, Baptist College Kohima on February 13 with Theyievino Whiso, MD and Training Lead of Nagaland Institute of Language Studies and Research (NILSR), Kohima as the resource person.
The programme commenced with a welcome note by Dr Tsenbeni, HoD, Department of English and a prayer by Dr Enünü Sale, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
The workshop was conducted in two sessions accommodating the 2nd Semester and 6th Semester students of English department.
In the first session, the resource person focused on the concept of Soft Skills with adaptability as its key point and the practice of ‘deliberate calm.
The first session concluded with an activity on team work.
In the second session, the speaker focused on the importance of language skills.
The session ended with an activity focused on decision making skills and interaction skill and the importance of small talk in developing speaking skills.
The workshop concluded with vote of thanks by Asola C Jamir, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
