Stressing that Christian values form the moral foundation of society, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland State President Benjamin Yepthomi on Wednesday said that peace, unity and love are essential for true development and social harmony.

Speaking at the BJP Nagaland Advent Christmas Celebration held at the Town Hall, Mokokchung, he maintained said that Christmas is a season that reminds believers of God’s message of love, sacrifice and renewal through Jesus Christ.

Despite political differences, Christians are united by their faith in one God and the teachings of Jesus Christ, he held.

Describing the programme as a historic initiative, Yepthomi said that it was the first time in the history of any political party, and particularly the BJP had organised an Advent Christmas celebration in Mokokchung.

Similar celebrations are being planned across other districts and assembly constituencies in Nagaland to commemorate the Word of God and the Christian faith.

Citing Biblical scriptures, he emphasised that salvation is a free and enduring gift and encouraged believers to embrace faith beyond traditions.
