
A volunteer donating blood at the blood donation camp organised by Blood Bank IMDH, Mokokchung and Care & Support Society in Mokokchung on September 16.
Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): The Blood Bank IMDH, Mokokchung and Care & Support Society had organized a blood donation camp among the staffs of Care & Support Society and the well-wishers on September 16 at Blood Bank, IMDH, Mokokchung.
The programme was lead by Imchawati Kichu Managing Director and Dr. Chubala Aier M/O of Blood Bank shared on the importance of blood donation. Altogether 4 persons donated their blood. Imchawati Kichu Managing Director acknowledge the Staffs and Well-wisher who came forward and donated blood to someone who need blood, informed a press note received here.
It stated that the organization had been conducting Voluntary Blood Donor Motivation cum Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Blood Bank, IMDH since 2008 to create awareness and motivate people to come forward and donate blood for the needy.
“Blood is required all the time for saving a life. But to procure this blood is not at all easy unless people are educated and motivated about the importance of donating blood. Blood Banking has changed from a bench in a corner of a hospital to a specialized subject and replacement of ancient glass bottles by modern laboratory; technologies have changed the quality of blood banking and transfusion service. But one thing that has not changed since the dawn of first blood transfusion of modern era is the need of human voluntary to donate blood,” it added.
It also stated that donating blood for someone who is about to die for want of blood is the greatest gift one can do for the humanity. Nobody knows who will need blood, when or where. If all of us donate blood it will ensure its availability at the time of need. Even though the world has advanced much in technology blood still cannot be manufactured or produced artificially or it cannot be supplied by any agency.
