BSI releases ‘Lamkang Naga Holy Bible’

IMPHAL, DECEMBER 19 (MExN): The Lamkang Naga Holy Bible was released by the Bible Society of India (BSI) at Lamrinkhuw Baptist Church, Pallel, Manipur on December 17.
On behalf of the BSI, Rev Dr Yiepetso Wezah, Auxiliary Secretary, Dimapur released the Bible in the presence of the LNBA leaders, Pastors and Church leaders, a press release informed.


Releasing the Bible, Rev Dr Wezah also shared on “the power of the word of God” and how it can transform the life of individuals and society into better persons and society, it said.


He further encouraged believers to read and meditate upon the word of God.


Rev D Bongshot, translator of the Lamkang Naga Holy Bible, while giving a brief report on the project, said that she began the translation work “with prayer, continued it with prayer and completed the translation work with thanksgiving prayer.”


She also acknowledged that God gave her patience, understanding and strength to carry out the translation work.


Rev Bongshot also appreciated BSI, especially the supervisors for the advice as well as encouragement and noted that due to the efficiency of the society, the Bible could be brought out on time, the release said.


While Joyson Thangal, Marketing Assistant Officer, BSI brought greetings on behalf of the BSI, Rev R Khular, Former Executive Secretary, LNBA expressed words of gratitude to BSI and its Associate Translation Director, Shillong Rev Dr Along Jamir and Supervisor Rev Vanlal for helping them to have the word of God in their own language, it said.
The place has 24 churches and a little more 7000 population but “yet their oneness in Christ enables them to have their Bible,” added the release.


The release function was chaired by Dilbung whiel Rev JV Darjoy, Elect President, Lamkang Naga Baptist Association (LNBA) pronounced the invocation and Rev J Joseph, Executive Secretary, LNBA welcomed and introduced the invitees and delegates.
