C-Edge College holds 11th commencement ceremony

Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): C-Edge College celebrated its 11th Commencement Day on April 25 at the G.K. Auditorium, marking a milestone for the graduating Class of 2025.

The event began with a ceremonial Procession of the Outgoing Class, symbolizing the transition of students from academic life to their next chapters. Mughakhi Zhimo, Youth Pastor and Counselor at Sumi Baptist Church, Diphupar, led the gathering in a solemn prayer.

In his opening address, Er. Moa Aier, President of C-Edge College, welcomed the guests, parents, and students. Reflecting on the college's growth, he emphasized the importance of character, resilience, and the spirit of lifelong learning. Student Advisor Obed Patton then led the Pledge of Allegiance, where students reaffirmed their commitment to the values of the institution.

The college recognized outstanding student achievements with the announcement of College Awards, presided over by Principal Dr. Chubatola Aier. Laurel Awards for academic excellence were presented to Ikato (BA I Semester), Zuthoto Phesa-o (BA III Semester), Thejavikho Miari (BA V Semester), Hoto I Assumi (BBA I Semester), Nikhuli Achumi (BBA III Semester), and Thejasikho Vakha (BBA V Semester).

Yiutsula Yim (BA I Semester) and Hoto I Assumi (BBA I Semester) received the Balakrishnan Ramanathan Award for excellence in Environmental Studies. The Champion Star Attendance Awards were conferred upon Chubanungsang Imsong (BA V Semester) with 98.2% attendance, and Tolika Aye (BBA V Semester) with 97.3% attendance.

Other honorees included Thejasikho Vakha (BBA VI Semester), who received both the NUVBC EU Student of the Year award and the prestigious SPEAR Prize for overall achievement. Kivinoli S. Aye (BA VI Semester) was awarded the Library Best User Award.

Student reflections were delivered by Neinguzo Khezhie (BA VI Semester and General Secretary of the C-Edge College Students’ Forum), Thejasikho Vakha (BBA VI Semester), and Vinika (BA IV Semester), who shared heartfelt memories, lessons learned, and the bonds formed during their college years.

The Commencement Speech was delivered by Lezo Putsure, CEO of Educentre, who spoke on the power of persistence, the value of every learning opportunity, and the importance of surrounding oneself with the right circle of friends. His speech was warmly received by both students and faculty.

The College Choir presented the college song, “Believe in Him,” followed by the Roll of Honour conducted by Meyatemsu Longkumer, Head of the Department of English. The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Yajennaro, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology.
