The Chokri Area Wrestling Association (CAWA) will be holding its 31st general wrestling meet 2026 on January 14, 2026 at Phusachodu Local Ground.
Nagaland’s CAWD & taxes advisor Kudecho Khamo will be the special guest while Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) president Vivolie Kezo will be the guest of honour.
CAWA president Hukupa Ciekhan informed that CAWA champion will fetch a cash prize of Rs. 1.50 lakh while runner-up will receive Rs. 1 lakh.
The 3rd & 4th place holders will get Rs. 70,000 and Rs. 40,000 respectively.
The prize money for 4th position will be sponsored by Er. Vedupa Kotso, JE, Electrical Store Division, Chumoukedima
The champion under 15 Category will pocket Rs. 40,000 while 2nd, 3rd and 4th position holders will be awarded with Rs. 25,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 5000 respectively.
The prize money under 15 Category (1st, 2nd and 3rd) will be sponsored by Veduzo Sasu, Deputy Director, Rural Development, Kuduve Keyho, PS to advisor Kudecho Khamo and Rudasa Curhah, technical secretary Chakhesang Wrestling Association respectively.
Chisazo Dawhuo will officiate the meet at as chief referee. He will be assisted by Potsutso Thira, Vevohu Swuro, Zacura Ringa, Khriesacuyi Puyo-o, Thepukhoyi Swuro, Zashehu Curhah and Vethisa Khamo.
The conferment of championship belt in memory of Rev. Pusazo Chuzho, will stand official for five consecutive championships.
This belt is sponsored by Kethose Chuzho, Proprietor, Chuzho Designs.
Wrestlers tracksuits will be sponsored by JP Park & Banquets, Naga United Village, Chumoukedima, framed certificate by Er. Shekhoto Thulutso, Junior Engineer, Urban Development department, programme by Zhopokhoyi Chuzho, proprietor AZ Print and caps by Khosato Theluo, entrepreneur.
