Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) Advisor Kudecho Khamo on Wednesday inspected ongoing construction projects in Tseminyu, Wokha, Mokokchung and Longkhim under Tuensang district, reviewing their progress and workmanship and urging contractors to maintain the pace of work.
The inspection team included CAWD Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE) Ketousielie Kenguruse, district officials and contractors associated with the projects.
In Tseminyu, the team inspected the new Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office Complex and flat-type quarters in the presence of DC Japheth Woch, Assistant Engineer Vethivolu Nyekha and other officials.
Funded under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme and state funding, the complex is designed as a G+2 reinforced cement concrete building and includes a 150-seat conference hall, accessibility provisions for persons with disabilities (PwDs) and an elevator.
Kenguruse expressed optimism that the project would be completed soon while the contractor assured the team that the remaining work would be completed within six to eight months as most major components were already completed.
In Wokha, the team inspected the new DC Office Complex in the presence of DC K Mhathung Tsanglao and other officials and reviewed the overall progress, examined key structural components and assessed construction against the approved schedule. The complex is designed as a G+1 structure with two basement floors and is intended to accommodate multiple administrative departments under one roof.
Kenguruse observed that the RCC work, brickwork and roofing had been completed. The team later inspected the ongoing construction of flat-type officers’ quarters, including a Type-C quarter in Mokokchung town, before visiting the ADC Office Complex at Longkhim under Tuensang district.
Khamo commended the pace of construction and expressed satisfaction with the progress and workmanship at the three locations, while urging contractor at Longkihim to maintain the momentum to ensure timely completion of the projects.
During the tour, he stated that the government was undertaking developmental works across Nagaland despite limited financial resources, acknowledging Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s leadership in pursuing development.
Describing administrative officers as pillars of the government, Khamo said efforts were being made to improve facilities and urged officers to ensure that welfare-oriented schemes reached beneficiaries, particularly those in the last mile.
He also sought public support for government initiatives, stating that collective efforts were necessary to translate the government’s vision into tangible benefits for the people.
