Kohima, July 29 (MExN): Director of Census Operations, Nagaland, Dr Kenei Miachieo, on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the ongoing Census operations in Kohima district during a meeting with Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer B. Henok Buchem and charge officers.

During the meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Dr Miachieo expressed confidence in the conduct of the Census, saying there was no reason for inaccurate data as the officials involved were competent and committed to their responsibilities.

He observed that the people of Nagaland have been cooperative and understanding when the purpose and importance of the Census are properly explained, and urged all government servants to contribute sincerely towards the successful completion of the exercise.

"The quality of the Census depends on the dedication and collective efforts of every official involved," he said.

Dr Miachieo said the data collected so far was in line with expected figures and noted that charge officers would now shoulder the responsibility of scrutinising and analysing the data.

He also appreciated the initiatives taken by Deputy Commissioner Buchem to facilitate the Census operations, particularly the establishment of a dedicated helpline to address grievances and assist both officials and the public during the exercise.

The director said the district administration's proactive measures had eased the workload of the Directorate of Census Operations and complemented its efforts in ensuring the smooth implementation of the Census.
