Children acquainted with Chinese language and culture

Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): Keeping pace with children from mainland India, children from Dimapur participated in a 20-day “Chinese for Kids Summer Program” to get acquainted with Chinese language and culture. Conducted by the Chinese Institute of Language & Arts, Dimapur, the children learned basic Chinese language and culture, Chinese dining, Chinese calligraphy and handcrafts during the programme.
During the prize and certificate awarding function, Dr. John Murry Patron of the Chinese institute congratulated the children and parents and mentioned how this small summer program can lead to bigger things for the participants keeping in mind China’s growing status in the global scenario. Twelve year old Satyam Sharma won the best student award. Sharma, also a student of the institute’s certificate course will represent the Chinese institute at national Chinese Language Proficiency Competition. Prizes for the students were sponsored by J.K electronic plaza, G.S road, Dimapur.
