Veteran Doubles winners Abu Metha & Vikhotso
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 27 (MExN): The Christmas Charity Invitation 2025 pickleball tournament concluded at The Fitness House after two days of competition on December 22 and 23.
Organised by the Nagaland Pickleball Association, the tournament aimed at promoting the growing popularity of pickleball in the state while raising funds for charitable causes during the festive season.
In the Open Men’s Singles category, Vilasier emerged champion. Tonoto and David clinched the Open Men’s Doubles title, while Abu Metha and Vikhotso won the Veteran Doubles event. The Open Mixed Doubles crown was secured by Dzüzie and Vilasier.
The tournament was conducted in aid of Spring Harbour Home and Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home. Funds were raised through event proceeds, patron contributions and voluntary donations from players and well-wishers.
Government officials and members of the business community attended the finals and closing ceremony, extending encouragement to the players and organisers.
The Nagaland Pickleball Association expressed gratitude to its advisors Abu Metha and Kuchi Zeliang for their guidance and support, and to The Fitness House for hosting the event and providing logistical assistance.
The association also acknowledged the contribution of players, officials, volunteers and patrons in ensuring the smooth conduct of the tournament, noting that the event underscored the role of sport in fostering community participation and supporting social causes.
