Chumdemo Shitio wins overall title at Uphill Battle Tarmac 2026

Chumdemo Shitio emerged as the overall champion at the first Uphill Battle Tarmac 2026 and Northeast Championship 4.6, organised by the Headstrong Racing Club (HRC), Wokha, in association with the Nagaland Adventures Club (NAC).

The three-day motorsport competition, held from October 8 to 10 at Nyiro Range Road in Wokha, concluded on October 10.

The event aimed to promote motorsport in the district and provide a platform for local and aspiring drivers to showcase their skills.

The competition featured three categories — SUV, Below 1300cc and Open — with participants competing across two stages covering a total track length of 5 km. The championship offered a total prize pool of Rs 3 lakh, including category prizes and special awards.

In the Open category, Shitio secured the championship title, while Thezieu Kire finished second and Kima Jamir third.

In the SUV category, R Kense emerged champion, followed by Abemo Naga in second place and Jamir in third.

Shitio also won the Below 1300cc category, with Jamir finishing second and Thezieu taking third place.

In the Ladies category, Reshma Singh emerged champion.

Shitio was declared the overall champion and also received the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Fastest Time awards.

The closing ceremony and prize distribution programme was held on Saturday, with Er Chonpenthung K Tungoe, Sub-Divisional Officer, PWD (Roads and Bridges), Wokha, attending as the special guest.
