The people of Panso have observed the need for a Medical Officer at Panso PHC under Noklak District. This was highlighted by its MLA Benei M Lamthiu, during a multi-speciality health camp conducted by the Chief Minister's Mobile Operation Theatre (CM-MOT) team at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Panso led by Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso on March 28 and 29.

The team consisted of all the speciality doctors including Anesthesiologist Dr Keneilhoulie Medom, General Surgeon Dr Moa Temjen and Dr Rovino Kera and dentist Dr Lanu Mollier along with other medical and technical staff.

Local MLA Benei M Lamthiu was present throughout the health camp, interacting with patients and overseeing the proceedings. His personal involvement was widely appreciated by his own people, who expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for initiating such a valuable programme for rural areas, one of the speciality doctors of the CM-MOT observed.

The team observed that the two-day medical drive have had significant impact on the community, where there were around 450 patients.

As such, the MLA cited that the people of Panso have one pressing request and that is they urge the Chief Minister and the medical department to employ a medical officer at the Panso PHC, which is in dire need of a full-time medical professional.

“This medical camp have shown that there are many people suffering from various disease who are in need of medical attention but due to absence of a medical doctor in the PHC, the villagers do not approach the PHC for medical help,” the MLA said.

“This would not only enhance the quality of life for their villagers but also align with the government's initiatives to improve healthcare services in rural areas,” Lamthiu added.
