Lumding–Badarpur Section: NFR announces further train cancellations, rescheduling

Maligaon, August 18 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced further changes to train services as restoration work continues near New Harangajao station in the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section, where railway tracks on Line-1 and Line-2 had suffered settlement.

Train operations in the affected section continue through Line-3 with enhanced safety measures, the NFR said, adding that the latest cancellations and rescheduling have been necessitated by the ongoing restoration work.

Four trains have been cancelled as part of the latest update. Train No. 15617 Guwahati–Dullabcherra Express and Train No. 15615 Guwahati–Silchar Express, scheduled to commence their journeys on August 19, have been cancelled. Their corresponding return services—Train No. 15618 Dullabcherra–Guwahati Express and Train No. 15616 Silchar–Guwahati Express—scheduled for August 20, have also been cancelled.

Seven trains rescheduled
Seven other services have been rescheduled. Train No. 15650 Narangi–Agartala Express will depart Narangi at 10:30 pm on August 19, while Train No. 15649 Agartala–Narangi Express will depart Agartala at 11:30 pm.

Train No. 15609 Guwahati–Sairang Express will depart Guwahati at 11:30 pm and Train No. 15610 Sairang–Guwahati Express from Sairang at 9:30 pm.

Train No. 15611 Rangiya–Silchar Express will depart Rangiya at 11:30 pm. Train No. 15612 Silchar–Rangiya Express will depart Silchar at 5 am on August 20, while Train No. 15646 Silchar–Charlapalli Express will depart Silchar at 4:10 am the same day.

Meanwhile, Train No. 17031 Charlapalli–Agartala Express, which commenced its journey on August 17, will be regulated en route suitably, the NFR said.
