Kohima, July 23 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Wednesday held a consultative meeting of its legislators at the Central Party Office in Kohma, chaired by party president and Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio, to deliberate on the state’s political and developmental challenges. It also took note of the recent natural disasters that have caused loss of life, property and livelihood across Nagaland.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Rio highlighted key priorities, including the need to strengthen and expedite the Naga Political issue and ensure all-round development.
He emphasised that the party must remain united and proactive in addressing both political and developmental challenges. He also called upon the Naga people to remain united, stating that unity and collective effort are essential to safeguard the interests of the community and achieve lasting peace and progress.
The meeting took serious note of the recent extreme weather events that have affected various parts of the state. The party asserted it would take all possible measures to assist in relief and restoration efforts, reach out to affected communities, and extend support to those in distress.
Organisational matters were also discussed at length, with leaders deliberating on strengthening party coordination at all levels, enhancing grassroots connect, and charting a clear roadmap for the way forward. The meeting reaffirmed the party’s steadfast commitment to public service, unity, and overall welfare of the Naga people.
The consultative meeting was chaired by Achumbemo Kikon, MLA, Advisor and Secretary General of the NPF, according to a press release issued by the party’s press bureau.
