Combined annual training of 24 Nagaland Battalion NCC underway

Kohima, October 9 (MExN): The 2nd edition of the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) of the 24 Nagaland Battalion NCC (National Cadet Corps), Kohima, commenced on October 4 at the Assam Rifles Complex, Wokha.

A total of 400 Senior Division, Senior Wing, Junior Division, and Junior Wing cadets are attending the 10-day camp, which will conclude on October 10.

A press release from the PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, informed that the camp aims to impart collective training, discipline, and shared responsibility to enhance the cadets’ knowledge and skills in military subjects such as weapon training, firing, drill, health, and hygiene.

The training will prepare the cadets for their forthcoming certificate examinations, it said.

On October 7, Colonel Shenjamo Ngullie, Officiating Group Commander, Kohima Group, visited the CATC camp and was briefed on various training activities, including competition schedules and administrative arrangements for the well-being of the cadets.

While appreciating the arrangements and activities planned, he stressed the importance of holistic development among the cadets during the camp and encouraged a healthy competitive spirit.

During his address, Col Ngullie also urged the cadets to gain knowledge from the various lectures and activities and to prepare well for the forthcoming A, B, and C certification exams.

Job opportunities in the Indian Armed Forces were presented by officers from the Army Recruiting Office, Rangapahar.
A large number of relevant lectures and demonstrations are scheduled along with the syllabus and curriculum as per the NCC manuals.

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha; Superintendent of Police, Wokha; HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), Kohima; and NCC schools and colleges are working together to ensure a successful camp, added the release issued via PIB Kohima.
