Dimapur, September 9 (MExN): The Whole Jalukie Village Council comprising of 13 villages held an emergency meeting today, September 9 at Town Council Hall, Jalukie. The meeting was attended by all responsible leaders, youth and student leaders from the respective villages and discussed the "horrendous crimes committed by the habitual offender" on September 2, wherein Lorhu a respectable elder from Jalukielo village was ambushed and killed in a manner beyond human tolerance.

In an open platform speech delivered by respective village heads and leaders of various organizations condemned the incident in the most strongest term and endorsed steadfast cooperation to the demand laid out to the law enforcing agencies by the Jalukielo Village Council and also called upon all right thinking citizen to come forward to fight against social menace often created by certain section of people once and for all, stated a press note appended by chairman of Whole Jalukie Village Council H.M.Zeliang.
The house unanimously adopted a resolution “to unitedly safe guard the God gifted land of Old Jalukie Village and its people living therein at any cost from the hand of our oppressors/ aggressors (sic),” the note stated.
It also mentioned that Jalukie Village Council comprising of 13 villages was formally established with the consent and custom of old Jalukie Village.
