Pungro, May 12 (MExN): A coordination meeting of all heads of departments (HoDs) of Pungro subdivision was held on May 12 under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Hotolu Sema, NCS, at the ADC Office.

Emphasising the importance of inter-departmental synergy, ADC Sema in his concluding remarks called for teamwork and collaborative problem-solving through regular brainstorming. He also maintained to have co-ordination meeting in every three months, stated a DIPR report. 

During the meeting, various departmental heads presented an overview of their ongoing projects and programmes, while also flagging key challenges.

The Community Health Centre, Pungro, highlighted its awareness campaign and ongoing HPV vaccination drive. The School Education Department reported completion of free distribution of textbooks and uniforms, besides maintaining a healthy average teacher-student ratio.

The Agriculture Department announced plans for free distribution of machinery and seeds. The Rural Development Department flagged a shortage of labour-driven workforce under the newly renamed PMG-VBG (formerly MGNREGA), attributing the issue to increasing digitisation and outlining a roadmap to address it.

OC Pungro raised the lack of proper documentation process for Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the subdivision, with the ADC assuring full cooperation with the police to find a feasible solution.

The SDO (Electrical) informed about the ongoing adoption of smart meters, while SDO (R&B) listed the department’s ongoing projects. The PHED drew attention to water scarcity caused by the depletion of two major water sources.

The Khongsa Aspirational Block reported successful completion of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 and announced plans to install NITI TARA at the ADC office. The Social Welfare Department highlighted the success of the Poshan Tracker initiative and a well-maintained worker-to-population ratio. The Post Office also shared its departmental progress.
