Daily bazaar, grocery shops opened for 2 hours in Kiphire
As per the order given by the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, SaritaYadav, bazaar and grocery shops will be open only on every alternate day i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am to 11 AM.
A DIPR report informed that shops opened for two hours on March 27 to the public to purchase their daily essential commodities. They were also allowed to purchase only 10 kg of foodgrains per family.
After two hours all the shops, public movement and vehicular movement were stopped.
District Admin sets up helpline number in Dimapur
In view of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the district administration in Dimapur has set up help line numbers to assist the general public on various matters.
The general public has been informed to that in case of any inconveniences, the following numbers can be contacted:
DC Kohima informs private water tankers
The Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie has informed that in the interest of public service and safety, all private water tankers not possessing necessary Permit issued by the Kohima Municipal Council have been banned from plying with immediate effect.
As per a DIPR report, the following guidelines are to be strictly followed by the Drivers and handymen of the permitted private water tankers:
1. No passengers will be allowed except for the driver and handyman.
2. The vehicle should be properly sanitized.
3. No other articles/materials should be carried except water.
4. The driver and handyman should wear hand gloves, mask and use sanitizers at all times.
DC Zunheboto directs VCCs/GBS
The Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo, sent out a circular for strict compliance with immediate effect, directing all VCCs/GBs of all villages and wards under Zunheboto District to carry out the following order:
- To identify, ascertain and compile the number and details of daily wage earners within their jurisdiction and submit to the nearest Administration HQ/Circle. The respective Area Administrative Officers shall ensure that the compilation is collected on an urgent basis.
- To assist the MOs/Rapid Response teams in strictly enforcing the home quarantine of any individual who has been placed under surveillance by the Medical department within their respective jurisdiction. The concerned MOs/RRTs may coordinate with the VCCs and/or GBs in identifying the individuals placed under home quarantine.
Mokokchung DC appreciates citizens’ donations
The district administration Mokokchung has expressed appreciation to various contributors towards assisting the district in combat against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The following cash contributions were made from according to a press note from DC Mokokchung Limawabang Jamir.
1. Mokokchung District Legislators - Rs 5 lakh
2. Vertex Construction – 1 lakh
3. Kumlong Baptist Church Mokokchung – Rs 1 lakh
4. Nagaland Civil Service Association – Rs 50,000
5. Tsümokong Baptist Church, Changtongya: Rs 20.000
Kohima Ao Baptist Church donates to fight against covid-19
The Kohima Ao Baptist Church in a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary Temjen Toy has stated that they will be donating Rs 3 lakh to the Government of Nagaland for procuring more Personal Protective Equipments for better protection of the mainline workers.
Besides the monetary donation, the Church expressed its heartfelt prayer for God to intervene and aid all the mainline workers who are putting their lives at risk for the safety and healing of the citizens, a DIPR report informed.
KMC sets price rates for essential commodities
Kohima, March 27 (MExN): At an emergency meeting held with the whole sellers within Kohima Municipal Council jurisdiction in view of the panic caused due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the following rate of items have been approved.
1. Tomato Rs. 30 (Per Kg)
2. Green Chilly (Tepa) Rs. 60 (Per Kg)
3. Green Chilly (Micro) Rs.70 (Per Kg)
4. Onion Rs. 40 (Per Kg)
5. Potato Rs. 30 (Per Kg)
6. Cabbage Rs. 20 (Per Kg)
7. Garlic Rs. 150 (Per Kg)
8. Masoor Dal (Lentil) Rs.70 (Per Kg)
9. Rahar Dal Rs.100 (Per Kg)
10. Mong Dal Rs. 110 (Per Kg)
11. Sugar Rs. 50 (Per Kg)
12. Egg Rs. 160 (Per Plate)
13. Rice (Arham, Andra) Rs.1850 (Per 50kg)
14. Rice (Boil) Rs.850 (Per 25kg)
No commodities shall be sold beyond the MRP or fixed rate and in case, any rate is increased, the whole sellers shall stop the import till new rate approved, a DIPR report informed.
Kohima Covid 19 District Task Force quarantine and treatment centers
The Kohima Covid 19 District Task Force led by DC Kohima Gregory Thejawelie visited and took stock of the preparations underway at the quarantine center being set up at Meriema, Kohima which can house upto 432 persons who are under quarantine. The team also visited the Covid 19 treatment center at Chedema where all positive cases of Covid 19 in Kohima District will undergo treatment. The Hospital is well equipped with proper isolation wards and ICUs and will serve as the main center for treating Covid 19 positive patients under Kohima District.
The Team finally visited the interstate checkgate at Kuzhama where screening is being done on all those entering into Nagaland. The team had a brief discussion with the healthcare and police personnel posted at the Check gate regarding their safety and welfare, a DIPR report stated.
KMC acknowledges contributions towards covid-19 sanitation fund
The Kohima Municipal Council has acknowledged with gratitude the contribution of the following Organisation and individuals towards the Kohima Municipal Council COVID-19 Sanitation Fund:
1. The Nagaland Pollution Control Board - Rs. 1 lakh
2. M/S Vilelie Khamo & Sons - Rs. 30,000
3. Er. Kevisekho Kruse - Rs. 20,000
Green Team Kohima permitted to identify daily wage workers
Permit is issued to The Green Team Kohima, to identify daily wage workers and provide rations to such identified daily wage earners during the 21 Days Nation-wide COVID-19 Lockdown period in Kohima
This is issued with the approval of the Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, Kohima, a DIPR report informed.
