COVID-19 patient from Nagaland discharged from GMCH

To spend mandatory 14 days in facility quarantine in Guwahati

The first COVID-19 patient Nagaland has recovered and was discharged from the hospital on May 1. The patient, who was referred to Guwahati from Dimapur, was admitted to the Guwahati Medical College & Hospital (GCMH) on April 12.
He was tested positive for COVID-19 at the GMCH, where he recuperated.
According to the GMCH Superintendent, Dr Ramen Talukdar, the patient was discharged from the hospital's isolation ward, where he was monitored for 14 days, after he was discharged from the ICU.
"He (the patient) will stay in facility quarantine for the next 14 days," he said. Dr Talukdar added that the patient can return home during the mandatory quarantine period if he so wishes but cannot stoppover in any part of Assam midway into the journey home to Nagaland.
The patient's father told The Morung Express that they will be staying back to complete the quarantine in Guwahati.
"We are staying back as he will require further treatment (for ailments not related to COVID-19)," he said.
Meanwhile, the father, who was also released from quarantine about two days back, said he was doing fine.
