DIMAPUR, APRIL 4 (MExN): Nagaland Governor, RN Ravi today said that he hopes to have a COVID-19 testing facility in the State soon.
“We are in the process of setting up a Testing Laboratory in our State,” the Governor stated, adding, “I am hopeful to have it ready and functional soon.”
In a press release, the Governor said he was in touch with the Ministry of Health and the ICMR about getting the required assistance.
In the face of no testing facilities in Nagaland, the Governor acknowledged that “we have not been able to do required number of tests to have an objective assessment of the COVID-19 situation.”
He further stated that all possible measures have been taken to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19 virus in the State.
“However, in an unfortunate event of some +’ve cases, I assure you that the State Government is well equipped to tackle it,” he said.
The Governor stressed on the need for social distancing and urged for cooperation from all sections while assuring that the government remains committed to mitigate the hardships of people.
The Governor also acknowledged the services of all frontline workers, health personnel, police and NGOs.
