Dimapur, September 25 (MExN): The Chang Union Dimapur (CUD) has condemned the alleged attempt on the life of Langshi Chang of Chendang Saddle Village under Tuensang district at Chichema Village in Kohima district on September 16, 2026.
In a statement issued by its Media Cell, the CUD said it was deeply shocked and outraged by the violent attack on Langshi Chang and strongly denounced what it termed a "barbaric act", stating that it posed a serious threat to the safety and well-being of the public.
The union said it stood in solidarity with the victim during the "incredibly difficult time" and prayed for his speedy recovery.
The CUD said it was deeply hurt by the attack on Chang, a daily wage earner who, it said, looks after his widowed mother and family members who depend entirely on him.
"This heinous act is not just an attack on one individual, but an assault on the peace, safety and democratic values of our entire community," it said.
The union appealed to the law-enforcement agencies to ensure justice without further delay in accordance with the provisions of law.
