Kohima, March 3 (MExN): The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) organised a coordination meeting with its former presidents and the advisors on March 2 at Kohima. CYF president Kevesa Khamo informed that CYF have resolved to continue and uphold the standing resolutions of the Chakhesang Public Organization. The major activities are banning of indiscriminate burning of jungle, collection and extraction of medicines for commercial purposes, hunting, illegal fishing, imported pigs in Chakhesang jurisdiction and conservation of biodiversity to address climate action amongst others. The resolutions have been notified to all the CYF affiliated units to strictly enforce in the respective jurisdictions. CYF former president Kekhwengulo Lea addressed the gathering and shared about the history of CYF and his experience.

He stated that the CYF came into existence in 1995 with its motto “Youth for the Nation” and has continued to safeguard and protect common interest, integrity and fraternity fostering unity and peaceful co-existence amongst our community and beyond. Other former presidents also shared their experiences and the advisors encouraged the present team to continue and uplift the youths, address challenges with practical solutions on issues of biodiversity, entrepreneurship and beyond through collective action in every spheres. The members present actively deliberated on the resolutions to be executed by CYF and ensured to stand by its principles, unity and integrity of CYF. The CYF advisors for 2024-2026 includes Vezhoduyi Nakro, Dr Zokho Venuh, Veswupoi Theyo, Vekhozo Ringa and Nyitso Therie.
