DA of state govt employees likely to be enhanced soon

Kohima, June 21 (MExN): The Finance Commissioner (FC) & Additional Chief Secretary, Sentiyanger Imchen, has reportedly stated that the Dearness Allowance (DA) of government employees in Nagaland will be "enhanced soon."

Imchen provided the assurance during a meeting held on June 21 with the executives of the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees Association (CANSSEA), led by its President Dr. Ilang, and attended by the Chief Secretary, J Alam, and the Additional CS.

During the meeting, the association submitted a representation and discussed pertinent issues faced by State Government employees, including delays in salary and wage disbursement, enhancement of DA, and the implementation of the Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS).

A press release from CANSSEA informed that the duo patiently listened to the concerns raised and assured that they would address the matters as soon as possible.

The visiting executives were informed that Nagaland, being a non-revenue earning state, relies solely on central grants for salary and wage disbursement, which often leads to delays.

However, the FC assured that the salaries and wages would be released promptly once sanctioned by the central government, CANSSEA informed.

Regarding the CMHIS, the Commissioner assured that the matter would be looked into, and emphasized the need for patience as the universal health insurance scheme is new and requires more time for proper implementation, it added.
