DC Longleng cautions against hoarding, overpricing of LPG, petroleum products

Longleng, March 23 (MExN): In pursuance of a directive from the Food & Civil Supplies Department, Government of Nagaland, to monitor the distribution of LPG and other petroleum products and to prevent hoarding, black marketing, and overpricing, the Deputy Commissioner of Longleng has notified the general public that “all LPG cylinders and petroleum products shall be sold strictly at government-prescribed rates through authorised dealers only.”

It informed that hoarding, black marketing, artificial scarcity, overpricing, or unauthorised sale by any dealer, distributor, or individual is strictly prohibited and punishable under law.

All consumers are advised to purchase LPG and petroleum products only from authorized dealers and to insist on proper cash memo/receipt for every purchase. 

The District Administration, Police, Food & Civil Supplies Department and Legal Metrology Department shall conduct regular inspections and surprise checks to ensure compliance.

It further informed that any complaint regarding overpricing, irregular supply, or malpractices may be reported to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng. Strict legal action shall be initiated against any person or entity found violating the above provisions under relevant laws.
The DC urged public to extend full cooperation to the authorities in ensuring fair and smooth distribution of LPG and other petroleum products in the district.
