Tuensang, July 29 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, has directed all NGOs, church organisations, civil bodies, and individuals to coordinate all relief and rescue operations exclusively through the DDMA, following extensive damage caused by heavy rainfall and flash floods across the district.
The notification, issued in compliance with directives from the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), aims to ensure smooth, equitable, and accountable distribution of relief materials to all affected families and villages.
Authorities stated that the decision was necessitated to avoid duplication of efforts and to guarantee that relief items reach every beneficiary without omission. All individuals and organisations intending to provide relief in cash or kind have been asked to route their contributions through the office of the Chairman, DDMA, Tuensang.
