DDLGBU officials during the commemoration programme of the 20th Rising Day on June 12.
Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): The Dimapur District Lotha Gaon Bura (GB) Union (DDLGBU) commemorated its 20th Rising Day on June 12 with members, community leaders and well-wishers gathering to celebrate two decades of service to society.
The programme was chaired by DDLGBU General Secretary Yanbothung Kikon and began with an invocation by Rev Dr Yanbemo Lotha, Senior Pastor of Dimapur Lotha Baptist Church (DLBC), who prayed for God's blessings upon the union and the community.
DDLGBU Treasurer Nyimpomo Ngullie delivered the welcome address, extending greetings to the chief guest, Gaon Buras, dignitaries and other participants.
Addressing the gathering, Lotha Hoho Dimapur Chairman Thungchaithung Murry and Dr Polaud Lotha congratulated the union on completing 20 years of service and highlighted the important role played by Gaon Buras in promoting peace, unity, social harmony and preserving the values and traditions of the community.
They encouraged members to continue working for the welfare and progress of society while upholding the rich cultural heritage of the Lotha community.
Chief Guest G K Rengma also congratulated the union on its 20th Rising Day and commended its dedicated service to the people over the years. In his address, he acknowledged the significant contributions of Gaon Buras in grassroots administration, dispute resolution and community development, and urged members to remain united and continue serving society with sincerity, wisdom and commitment.
As a mark of respect and remembrance, the gathering observed a minute of silence in memory of departed Gaon Buras, paying tribute to their invaluable contributions and dedicated service to the community.
Delivering the vote of thanks, DDLGBU Vice President Nyimbemo Mozhü expressed gratitude to the chief guest, invited dignitaries, Gaon Buras and all participants for their presence and support, which contributed to the success of the celebration.
The programme concluded with a benediction by Eramo Phyobhio Odyuo, GB, followed by fellowship and a community luncheon.
