The centre, set up by the Department of Commerce, seeks to enhance students’ employability through hands-on training in business and retail practices.
Speaking at the launch, Convenor of RSMC, Biswajit Sarkar, stressed the importance of skill development in addition to formal education and urged students to make the most of the opportunity to learn, experiment, and innovate. Head of Department, T George Kire, also encouraged students to gain practical exposure in financial accounting and business management during their academic pursuits.
The programme was attended by Temjensoba Imsong, Additional Private Secretary to the Minister of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, who highlighted the growing gap between academic qualifications and employability.
