DHFW holds induction programme for NPSC medical officers

Kohima, July 29 (MExN): The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW), Nagaland, organised an orientation programme for newly recruited medical officers appointed through the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) at its conference hall in Kohima on July 28.

The formal induction session was chaired by Director (Health) Dr Menguzenuo Margaret Yhome, while Principal Director Dr Mereninla Senlem outlined the aims and objectives of the programme. She said the orientation was intended to prepare the newly recruited medical officers for their responsibilities and acquaint them with the administrative and professional aspects of government service.

A technical session on basic office procedures and service conduct was conducted by Deputy Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Kegwachu Tep. The session covered general service rules, leave rules and admissibility, the Personnel Information Management System (PIMS), Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) file maintenance and other administrative procedures.

Senior Accounts Officer Peter Swu delivered a presentation on basic financial and accounts matters, covering charge reports, pay slips, the National Pension System (NPS) and annual increments.

Programme officers from various national health programmes functioning under the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, the National Health Mission (NHM), Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) and the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) also made presentations to familiarise the new recruits with their respective programmes and responsibilities.
