DHFW Nagaland issues strict directive on leave procedure

Kohima, July 4 (MExN): In an administrative directive, the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, has ordered all Medical Officers and medical personnel to strictly adhere to the prescribed procedure for availing leave.

The order, issued in pursuance of a departmental meeting held on May 14, 2026, makes prior sanction from the competent authority compulsory before any officer leaves the station. It also bars all personnel from proceeding on leave without written approval.

Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) and Medical Superintendents proceeding on leave have been directed to inform the Deputy Commissioner of the respective district before leaving their station, in addition to obtaining the requisite leave sanction, the order stated.

The department has further directed that proper leave records shall be maintained at the level of the Leave Sanctioning Authority.

“Any violation of the above instructions shall be viewed seriously and dealt with in accordance with applicable Government regulations,” the order said, adding that it is issued for strict compliance by all concerned.
