Meluri, June 1 (MExN): A District-Level Red Ribbon Quiz Competition aimed at promoting awareness on HIV and AIDS, healthy lifestyles and responsible behaviour among students was held at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Meluri, on May 30.
The programme was sponsored by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) and organised by DISHA, Phek.
Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Meluri Pipfusa Pojar, NCS, attended the event as the special invitee. Addressing the gathering, she commended the efforts of NSACS and DISHA in spreading awareness and empowering young people through educational initiatives.
Pojar encouraged students to make informed decisions and contribute towards building a healthy and responsible society.
Delivering the keynote address, District Programme Officer (DPO), DISHA Phek, Kuduvo Kezo highlighted the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness among youth and urged students to become informed ambassadors of awareness within their communities.
The quiz competition was conducted by Temjensen Jamir, counsellor, OST District Hospital Phek.
The programme concluded with words of encouragement and the distribution of prizes to the winners by the special invitee. Hierhotho Kajiri, District Inspector of Schools (DIS), DISHA Phek, chaired the event.
