Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, has launched a district-wide registration campaign for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) under the DREAM Nagaland initiative, an official release stated on Sunday.
The drive is aimed at ensuring an equitable, accessible, and inclusive registration process for PwDs seeking enrolment as job seekers in employment exchanges across the district, according to a DIPR report.
An official circular issued by Deputy Commissioner Dr Tinojongshi Chang informed that registration camps will be organised in various colonies and wards as per a scheduled plan. Village councils, ward authorities, and colony leaders have been directed to extend full support and actively disseminate information to ensure maximum participation.
The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to enhance employment opportunities and inclusion for PwDs by facilitating their registration in employment exchanges.
Eligible individuals must be aged between 14 and 37 years. Applicants are required to submit a disability certificate and a xerox copy of their Aadhaar card.
Camp schedule
The camps will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the given locations: March 23: Deaf Biblical Seminary, Prodigals Home, and others; March 24: Supply Colony, Fellowship Colony, Nepali Basti, Forest Colony, Landmark, Kyung Colony, Sewak, Oriental, and Viola; March 25: Notun Basti, Riverbelt, LRC, NST Colony, Middle Point, Khermahal Areas, Signal, Kevijau, Sematilla, Xuvihe, Marwaripatti, Chakhesang Colony, Ghorspatti, Westyard, Thahekha, and Dhobinalla; March 26: Lengrijan, IV, Razaphe, Kashirum, Indisen, Firing, Rilan, Bank Colony, Walford, Imkonglenden, Circuit House, United Colony, and Kuda; March 24–26: East Dimapur, Veterinary Colony, and Burma Camp.
Authorities have urged all eligible individuals to take advantage of the opportunity and participate in the registration drive.
