DMC asked to probe dubious firms

Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council is asked by the Educated Unemployed Union of Nagaland (EUUN) to intervene and investigate a number of financial schemes by three shady organizations in Dimapur.  The union mentioned one establishment called “Rozgar Mission” another called “Swaraj- Alliance Vision Marketing Pvt. Ltd” and the third “Wheelage Network Marketing Pvt. Ltd (India on Wheels)” who are allegedly involved in some dubious financial dealings and are also under scanner for fleeing with depositors’ money.
A copy of a letter of complaint addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Dimapur Municipal Council was received here from the EUUN. According to the union the aid “Rozgar Mission” had a “branch office” opposite to the office of the newspaper Eastern Mirror in Dimapur. It collected Rs. 650 per unit from thousands of people in Dimapur and other towns of Nagaland and then closed its “branch office,” the union alleged. Later the union said the scheme closed its website and its “head office” in Delhi.
About “Swaraj- Alliance Vision Marketing Pvt. Ltd”, the union said it had a registered office at Devina Plaza in Guwahati. It was a “kind of sales policy or units of packages” operated by Bajaj Alliance with its branch office near the petrol pump at City Tower in Dimapur. It sold units of different values up to several lakhs of rupees to thousands of people in Dimapur and other towns in Nagaland, the EUUN said. “Last year it promised to refund the collected amount to unit purchasers sometime in May 2011. But unfortunately, branch office of the Bajaj Alliance was closed down. Signboard removed. No telephone call was received since last year,” the union said.
About “Wheelage Network Marketing Pvt. Ltd (India on Wheels)” the union said the organization has a branch office at Anaki Complex opposite the NST garage in Dimapur while its head office is in New Delhi. The union alleged that this firm collected money from people at various rates for various vehicles. For instance for motorbikes they collected Rs. 6,000, for Alto Rs. 30, 000, for a ‘Bolero’ they collected Rs. 60, 000 and for a ‘Scorpio’ they collected Rs. 90, 000. They then promised “allotting vehicles” for which the depositors gave money. The union said that the firm claimed to be working all over India and so members would get the vehicle “even if they fail to find down line.”
“But later it was found that the network system cited above was only operating in Nagaland. Unfortunately, the operator fled from Nagaland with an excuse that some youth had harassed his family in Kohima. Now they are allotting products to depositors less than the value of amount they deposited,” the EUUN said.
The union has urged the DMC to intervene and probe these dealings and take necessary action. The EUUN has also called for ban on such kinds of marketing systems in Dimapur.
